Going Green is on the Mov(e)....ies.....
Have you ever went to a 3D film, and enjoy yourself until the movie was done? Have you ever though what the theater did with those glasses? Did you know that the 3D glasses that you were wearing were non-biodegradable? Some theaters just throw them away, others just place them in storage until a new 3D film comes along. Microsoft's "Help Key" hurting computers????

Oh no, it looks like Microsoft seems to be having more issues within their internet program Internet Explorer. Microsoft went on a public announcement to warned personnel's about the new opening within their program. This opening is allowing Malicious programs to enter within your computer with just a push of a button. It may be a surprised to you of what button it is.... your F1 key.
It seems that the only OS that are in harm's way would be Windows 2000, XP, and server 2003 based systems. The problem is in the Visual Basic Scripting which interacts with the 'Help Files' program. Microsoft said that the Malicious web site would show a Dialog box that would prompt you to hit your F1 key, which will install malware on your computer therefore corrupting it. Microsoft have put out information to retain from hitting your F1 key, and has asked all personnel's that have the older OS to place their Local Internet security zone settings to "High" to block ActiveX Controls and Active Scripting. They have also put out to have your IE to prompt you before running any Active Scripting or just to disable the active Scripting all together.
Seems like Malicious programs are getting stronger and crafter by the minute. Which means more security prep for Microsoft to worry about. It doesn't seem like there will be a security patch put out for the older OS, but Microsoft has information on their website to help within the situation. Although Windows Server 2003 will be provided with a service patch to take care of this minor issue.
More information can be found at TechCNet.com or if you believe that you have been affected by this issue you can visit this site dedicated by Microsoft Consumer Security Support Center website. For information related to this opening you can find at Microsoft TechNet.

New Viper Car Remote, ON A IPHONE

Applications on the iPhone, or iTouch, are more than just for playing games. Software companies are looking into using these devices into our everyday lives. Viper has join the band wagon within the market for iPhones applications. Now you can lock, unlock, open your trunk, use your panic, or even Start your Car with their software. The application is free but the device to install in your vehicle is sitting from $300-500 depending on the model of your car. That might sound like a lot of money, but this is around the same amount of money that a high end Viper alarm system for your car cost anyways. If your surround your life around your gadgets, and a iPhone is one of them, than you might want to look into this device if you are considering on upgrading your security on your vehicle.

Ares I-X Program gets the BOOT, but NASA is growing more into Technology....

If you don't know what the Ares I-X Program is then let me inform you about it. It's a $9 billion project used for the Orion crew vehicles and Ares rockets to go to outer space through NASA. The Ares I-X will stay on earth and will no longer fly anymore. Well you may ask yourself what does that have to do with computers and technology, that's more related to science. Well I can tell you this, even though they have discontinued the program, NASA is now more focused on advancing in robotics technology more than ever.

2010 International CES Show
The Xbox 720, being a non-controller video console where the controller is "YOU". It's a camera base video console that watches and hears everything that you do and applies it to the game itself. The next big things in the gaming world. It reaches out to those that play games but also to those that are not big on playing them because they are not good with controllers. It takes the meaning of gaming into a different level and a new world.
HP tablet, that's right the new tablet that Microsoft and HP have been working on for awhile was announced and confirmed at the CES show. Not that we are not surprised about this device because that was one of the BIGGEST reasons why everyone showed up. There have been rumors that Apple and Microsoft have been working on a tablet device that will take a new step within technology. Being that Apples' convention is in Feburary, which I will be posting about it after it happens, Microsoft saw this as a opportunity to get the jump on their product being announce before Apple. Now from what was shown, HP tablets comes in the size of 5" to 15" screens but no specs nor amount was talked about within the event. Of course they have to leave out a little bit of information to keep the consumers' interest. I'm pretty sure that it will be announced once they get a better look at the Apple tablets when they are announced in Feburary.
Now that was Microsoft's 2 biggest announcements but there was one thing that was just as HUGE and it wasn't Microsoft who announced it. It was a multiple of TV companies that was hogging some of the attention. TVs??? But we know all about the LED and LCD TVs and their HD quality's, what could possible be the big talk about them.....ummm how about 3D?. YES, that's right TVs are now going to be 3D. What has this world come to?
Well of course to be a 3D TV you need more then just the TV. So far ESPN is supporting their sports and news in a 3D event but it will not be until mid June before they will have that available for ordering though your company. On the bight side I heard that the Super Bowl might be in 3D but they are working on it. Don't worry if you don't have 3D because it will be shown in 2D as well for those that can't afford the 3D TVs. Oh yeah, the cost of a 3D TV will be around $4,000 - 7,000 depending on the size you want. Of course that is the usual when new TVs do come out, but I'm sure the price will drop in due time to where everyone can afford one. You also must wear the 3D glasses which will run about $150-200 each. It should come with the TV and I'm sure one does, but you have to buy more in order for anyone else to view the TV in 3D. TV + Glasses + qualified 3D station is what is needed for this special device.

CTS 287
I am currently a student at Edgecombe Community College going for my Associates' Degree within Computer Interface Technology. I am a father of 2 sons, and a loving husband to a beautiful wife. *Sorry my wife is standing beside me reading this. I love to make people smile and I am really good on breaking the "Ice" when it come to meeting new people. I have a happy upbeat personality and a loving caring atmosphere. I'm not really into the book learning but if you give me a project or have hands on projects I will achieve and over achieve what is require to me. I have a hard time doing exactly what people expect of me to do because I always try to do that and more than what is asked. I like projects and I love to be a overachiever, but sometimes that is my flaw. I don't mean to do so but it is just something that I recently have been shown that more is sometimes not better.
I have built a lot of computer in my pass time and all of my previous computers that I've owned have been build by me. I have worked on computers for about 14 years and have worked at Computer Connections for 4 years working on other peoples computers. I have had experiences within hardware and software and troubleshooting computers within these 14 years. I worked also at Office Depot as the Tech Manager, and keeping up with all the new technology was one of my main requirement within my job.
I am really hype on this class, CTS 287, and looking forward to some great and new topics relating to technology. I believe that this class will be the most Interesting class, yes I meant to capitalize Interesting for excitement, ever. I am going to have a lot of fun on this class.
Looking forward to spending this time and event with my fellow class partners, which by the way I would like for each class member to respond to this post so I would know who is in the class with me. Congratulations on signing up in this class and hope that it has not scared you away yet. {Robin stay with me on this class, lol, and call me if you don't know what to do. =) }
Happy late Holidays and future holidays to come. Wait, can we use abbreviations in this class like lol, jk, or btw, Tech talk. I would hope so, because that will add on into this blogging ordeal. Anyways enough of me ranting and I hope to read others blog soon.
